Welcome to Tulum

Welcome Guide

Each Mayan city had a specific purpose, and Tulum was no exception. This bustling seaport on the Yucatan Peninsula, trading heavily in turquoise and jade, was the only Mayan city located on the coast. Tulum is one of the best-preserved Mayan sites in Mexico and is rumored to have some of the world’s best magical energy. Now is your chance to experience this magic in person.

Do you need pesos?

As an international traveller, I advise that one thing you want to prepare for is access to local currencies. A free service I use and recommend is Wise. It is helpful to avoid high currency fees and bad exchange rates. Banks and local exchange services either give you good fees and poor rates or vice versa. To save money, you need to prepare in advance. Wise provides you with market rates and very nominal fees to exchange and move currencies, including Mexican pesos. You also get a FREE Wise MasterCard that you can use in restaurants, shops, and trips that will not charge you fees for foreign currency while getting market rates. I have used my Wise card in over 20 countries saving me hundreds of dollars. You can get yours here.

I hope you love and settle into your suite eager to explore Tulum. You may also Whatsapp message me if you have any questions.

I have provided you a couple of bottles of welcome water for you in your cabin.

Check Out

Be sure to double-check that you have not forgotten anything and turn off the air-conditioner.

Please check out by 10 am and message me when you have left the cabin so I may advise Ezekiel and also wish you a safe journey home!

House Rules

House rules are featured on our listing profile and guests must agree to them prior to making reservation requests.

No parties or events are allowed.

Smoking only on the balcony with closed doors.

No pets allowed.

Not suitable for toddlers and children under 12.

No unregistered guests are allowed. Unregistered guests will be vacated for trespassing.

Please do not flush tissue paper down the toilet. Dispose of tissue in the waste basket. The sewage system in Riviera Maya gets clogged with this.

Please do not use white towels for cosmetics. Use the colored face towel provided.

Please do not eat or drink on the bed and linens.

Please respect the noise curfew. (9:00 pm – 7:00 am is quiet time)

Please turn off the AC when you go out.

Please take extra care of your bicycles, keys and locks. Lost or damaged bicycles, keys and locks incur a replacement fee.

Please take care of the furniture. You have to pay for damages incurred during your stay.

No illegal substances are allowed on the premises.

Electricity (Air Conditioning)

We include 20 KW/day (It’s enough if you don’t let the air conditioning run all day). If you use more, your charge is 5 pesos/Kw or 0.50 US/Kw.

Quintana Roo’s electricity is at a premium because the infrastructure in place has not paced with the growth in the area. 2 main tips:

1. Turn off AC when out.

2. Keep AC at 24 degrees or warmer. Your cabin here in the Caribbean will never reach lower than 24 degrees. You will be wasting electricity to reach an unattainable temperature.

More than a spa treatment, the Temazcal is a cultural experience of an authentic Mayan steam bath or sweat lodge. In Temazcal they merge harmoniously ancient Mayan wisdom and herbal medicine.

The vapor created by the mix of essential herbs provides a long list of Temazcal benefits: it clears the digestive tract, improves blood circulation, energizes tired muscles and cleans the skin.

We perform Temazcals on-site and if you like to learn more or book your Temazcal, click here.
