Playa del Carmen caters to history buffs and outdoor enthusiasts alike. And of course, Playa’s swaths of white sand and brilliantly turquoise water impress even the most selective beach bums. Cancún is Mexico’s vacation of the past – today’s savvy beachgoers choose the cosmopolitan “Playa”.

Nestled right behind a beautiful beach and tranquil cenote, our apartment offers the perfect balance of natural beauty and local culture. About your host

In a Different Life, I found myself a salaryman. In this life, I have travelled, and immersed in 30 countries. 30 cultures. And yet the more I see, the more I realize that we are all the same in a universal truth. We are all beautiful.

I pride myself on providing tremendous value to your 5-star experience. Being an avid traveller, I personally understand and appreciate what one would and should want when arriving at a new destination. And specifically the Riviera Maya. I hope that I have provided everything you want for your 5-star tranquil stay.

You will be only a 10 minute walk from paradise!

You will be PERFECTLY LOCATED only 500 meters directly behind Punta Esmeralda Beach and Cenote which was just named the best beach in Mexico by the CIFPlayas and 3rd best urban beach in Latin America.

Do you need pesos?

As an international traveller, I advise that one thing you want to prepare for is access to local currencies. A free service I use and recommend is Wise. It is helpful to avoid high currency fees and bad exchange rates. Banks and local exchange services either give you good fees and poor rates or vice versa. To save money, you need to prepare in advance. Wise provides you with market rates and very nominal fees to exchange and move currencies, including Mexican pesos. You also get a FREE Wise Visa card that you can use in restaurants, shops, and trips that will not charge you fees for foreign currency while getting market rates. I have used my Wise card in over 20 countries saving me hundreds of dollars. You can get yours here.

Do you like a scooter?

Do you like a scooter to visit local cenotes and move around in Playa? My guests have told me the love how much fun it is to explore Playa Del Carmen on the scooter or bicycle! *Subject to availability.

Drive From Cancun Airport

  • Get on Cancun – Chetumal/Carr. Tulum – Cancún/México 307 from Carr. a Aeropuerto Cancún
  • Follow Cancun – Chetumal/Carr. Tulum – Cancún/México 307 to Calle 106 Nte in Luis Donaldo Colosio, Playa del Carmen

  • Follow Calle 106 Nte to Calle 104 Nte

  • Arrive Casitas Tranquilo on 10th.

Drive To Cancun Airport

Please ensure to allow at least 1.5 hour commute time back to the airport as traffic can be unpredictable at times due to construction.

ADO Bus

  • Take ADO Bus from Terminal 2 to Playa Del Carmen. You will see ticket booth there (approx. $240MXN).
  • Arrive at ADO PDC and take taxi from either outside station or off 10th Avenida to Casitas Tranquilo on 10th. (approx $100-$150MXN)

Check-In

You may check-in anytime after 3 pm. I will message you on Airbnb app or if booked directly, on Whatsapp, with your key code for the front and suite doors on your arrival day. 

“A” Units

The is the front entrance on 10th Avenue between 104 and 106 street. You can park on either 104 Street or 10th Avenue beside the building or in front of the entrance!

This is your front entrance smart lock. Touch on the black screen to light up the numbers. I will provide your access codes in a separate message on your day of arrival.

Please ensure that you, who made the reservation, personally check in and in upholding security for all guests, no unregistered guests are allowed on premises. 

“B” Units

The is the front entrance on 104th Calle between 10 and 15 Avenue. You can park on either 104 Street or 10th Avenue beside the building or in front of the entrance!

This is your front entrance smart lock. Touch on the black screen to light up the numbers. I will provide your access codes in a separate message on your day of arrival.

Rolando is your local point of contact and will be available throughout your stay. He’s friendly, knowledgeable, and ready to help with anything you need—from check-in assistance to local recommendations.
 
If you haven’t done so yet, please Whatsapp Rolando what time you plan to arrive or if you have any questions. If you are checking in past 8pm, please let us know in advance so we can make sure a team member is aware and ready to assist should you need assistance when you arrive. We do spend time with our families and we are slower to respond after 7pm. Non emergency messages will be answered the following day.

Be sure to double-check that you have not forgotten anything. Please turn off the air-conditioner, wash all dishes and put trash in garbage bag.

We want you to have a comfortable and enjoyable stay! To help ensure a pleasant experience for everyone, please take note of the following house guidelines:
 
🚭 No Smoking Indoors
•Smoking is only allowed on the balcony with doors closed.
 
🐾 No Pets
•We love animals, but this apartment is pet-free for guest comfort and allergy considerations.
 
🧑‍🤝‍🧑 Registered Guests Only
•Only guests listed in the reservation are allowed on the premises.
•Unregistered visitors are not permitted and may be considered trespassers.
 
🎉 Parties & Noise
•No parties or events allowed.
•Quiet hours are from 9:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m.—please respect fellow guests and neighbors.
 
🏖️ Sand
•Please rinse off sand at the outdoor tap before entering apartment.
 
🚽 Toilets & Plumbing
•Do not flush toilet paper—use the waste bin provided. Local plumbing systems can clog easily.
 
🧼 Towels & Linens Care
•Rinse off makeup, skincare or sunscreen before using towels or sheets, as stains cannot be removed.
•Kindly avoid eating or drinking on the beds.
 
🚲 Bicycles & Scooters
•Take care of all bikes, scooters, helmets, locks, and keys.
•Lost/damaged items will incur a replacement fee.
•Park bicycles inside the courtyard only—not outside.
•You are responsible for any traffic or parking fines during scooter use.
•Scooters must be returned with a full tank of gas.
 
🤿 Snorkel Gear
•Please RSVP if you’d like to use snorkel gear.
•Return gear the same day for cleaning.
•Lost or damaged items will be charged.
 
🛋️ Apartment Care
•Please treat furniture and property with care.
•Guests are responsible for any damages caused during the stay.
 
🧻 Supplies
•We provide starter toiletries and essentials (toilet paper, soap, etc.) for short stays (up to 1 week).
•For longer stays, we kindly ask that guests restock as needed.
 
🧽 Cleaning Courtesy
•Please wash your dishes and take out the trash before checkout (bins are outside entrance).
•Tidy shared spaces like the patio for the next guest’s enjoyment.
 
🍳 Kitchenware
•Use the non-scratch spatula provided for cooking.
•Please avoid metal utensils on non-stick pans—damaged cookware will be replaced at guest expense.
 
🚫 Legal Notice
•No illegal substances are permitted on the premises.

Smoking only outside with closed doors and windows.

Housekeeping is provided prior and after your stay. Should you like to have housekeeping during your stay, just Whatsapp Rolando to arrange for him to clean your suite ($300MXN).

There is a laundromat or lavandería conveniently located beside you Calle 96 and Avenida 10. Washings are usually only $100MXN. Message me on Whatsapp should you like Rolando to pick up and deliver your laundry. $cost of washing + $50.

Electricity (Air Conditioning)

❄️ Your comfort is our priority—and we also care about sustainability. Quintana Roo’s electricity supply is limited due to rapid growth, which sometimes leads to CFE blackouts.
 
We include 20 kWh/day, which is typically more than enough if you use the AC mindfully. Additional use is charged at 5 pesos/kWh (about $0.50 USD/kWh).

💡 Helpful Tips for AC Use:
1. Turn it off when you’re out
2. Set it to 24°C or warmer—cooler temps often won’t work well in this climate
3. Use sleep mode at night (“S” button on the remote)

Wash Sand Off

Please wash off the beach sand with the tap in the common area prior to entering your apartment. This is to reduce the speed of deterioration due to the salt from the sea.

Things to Do Recommendations

The vibe and energy of Playa Del Carmen is unique and very different from almost any other beach town I have visited. While there are many activities I love to do here in Playa and this list is by no means exhaustive, I recommend at least catching a sunrise on Punta Esmeralda, visiting cenotes, and a day on Isla Cozumel!
